Transfer Credit Evaluation
Transferring from another college? UAS evaluates your prior coursework and awards credit toward your UAS degree. Most regionally accredited course credits transfer — and your advisor will help you build the most efficient path to graduation.
How Transfer Credits Are Evaluated
Regionally Accredited Colleges
Credits from schools accredited by NWCCU, SACSCOC, HLC, or other regional accreditors transfer in full. Courses are matched to UAS equivalents or banked as elective credit.
UA System Transfer
Credits from UAF, UAA, and UAS transfer automatically with course equivalency. Your Degree Works audit updates immediately after transfer credit evaluation.
AP & IB Credit
Advanced Placement scores of 3+ and IB Higher Level scores of 5+ earn UAS course credit. See the AP/IB credit table on the Registrar's page for specific course equivalencies.
Military Training Credit (ACE)
Military training evaluated using ACE recommendations. Submit your JST (Joint Services Transcript) to the Registrar for review. Up to 30 credits may apply.
How to Submit Transcripts
- 1Request official transcripts directly from each prior institution. Transcripts must be sent official — not student-issued copies.
- 2Electronic transcripts may be sent to uas.transcripts@alaska.edu. Paper transcripts mail to UAS Registrar, 11066 Auke Lake Way, Juneau, AK 99801.
- 3Evaluation typically takes 2–4 weeks. View your Degree Works audit in UAOnline to see awarded credits after evaluation.
