Climbing Wall
UAS's 30-foot indoor climbing wall offers top-rope, lead climbing, and bouldering for all skill levels. Just minutes from the spectacular sea-cliffs and alpine crags of Southeast Alaska.
Wall Features
Top-Rope & Lead Routes
20 top-rope anchors and 8 lead climbing routes up to 5.12. Routes are reset by certified staff each month.
Bouldering Cave
Dedicated bouldering section with overhang, slab, and vertical problems ranging V0–V8. No harness needed.
Belay Certification
All top-rope climbers must hold or obtain UAS belay certification. 90-minute belay courses offered every Saturday morning.
Gear Available
Harnesses, belay devices, helmets, and climbing shoes available to rent from the REC Center front desk ($5/session).
Open Climb Hours
Monday–Friday: 12:00–2:00 PM and 4:00–8:00 PM
Saturday: 10:00 AM–2:00 PM (belay class 10 AM) | Sunday: 12:00–4:00 PM
