Student Government
Your voice at UAS. The Student Government Association (SGA) represents all UAS students in campus governance, allocates student activity funds, and advocates for student needs at every level — from individual course concerns to the UA Board of Regents.
What SGA Does
💰 Student Activity Fee Allocation
SGA distributes the student activity fee ($50/semester) to recognized student clubs, campus events, and student services. Any registered student organization can apply for SGA funding each semester.
🏛️ Campus Governance
SGA representatives sit on key UAS governance bodies including the Faculty Senate Academic Standards Committee, the Campus Planning Committee, and the Student Affairs advisory board. Student voice is written into UAS policy.
📣 Student Advocacy
SGA officers advocate directly with UAS administration and the UA system on tuition rates, student services funding, campus facilities, and student policy concerns. SGA can submit formal resolutions to the Chancellor.
🎉 Campus Events
SGA organizes or co-sponsors fall welcome events, finals stress relief activities, spring graduation celebrations, and community service days. SGA also funds the annual Iceworm Festival float and UAS Homecoming.
