Veterans Services

UAS is proud to serve Alaska's veteran and military community. Our Veterans Services office certifies GI Bill benefits, connects students with VA resources, and advocates for military-connected students on campus.

How to Use Your Benefits

  1. 1Apply to UAS and be admitted to a degree or certificate program.
  2. 2Apply for VA education benefits at va.gov (first-time users).
  3. 3Submit your VA Certificate of Eligibility and VA enrollment certification request to the UAS Veterans Services office.
  4. 4UAS certifies your enrollment to the VA each semester. Allow 6–8 weeks for first-time payments.

Military-Friendly Policies

UAS follows Alaska's military-friendly campus standards: deployed students may withdraw penalty-free, receive full tuition refunds, and return to their program without reapplying within two years of separation. Active duty students receive priority registration.
