Active Duty Benefits
UAS is proud to serve active duty service members stationed at or near Juneau and throughout Alaska. Military Tuition Assistance (TA) and in-state tuition rates make earning your degree possible while serving.
Tuition Assistance (TA)
Military Tuition Assistance covers up to $250/credit hour for eligible active-duty Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard members — with an annual cap of $4,500. UAS participates in GoArmyEd, Air Force Portal, and MyCAA (for military spouses). Courses taken online count equally toward TA eligibility.
In-State Tuition for Military
Active-duty service members stationed in Alaska and their dependents receive in-state (resident) tuition regardless of home state. This also applies for 12 months after separation from active duty under Alaska statute.
Flexible Scheduling
Online Programs
All UAS online programs are available to service members stationed anywhere. Business, Education, and Social Sciences B.A. programs offer fully asynchronous online tracks.
Military Withdrawal Policy
Students called to active duty or deployed mid-semester may withdraw without academic penalty and receive a full tuition refund regardless of the standard refund window.
